Dawn Palmer-Van Camp is the Director of Program Evaluation at the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit, owner of Bright Star Research, LLC., and local evaluator to four 21st Century Community Learning Center grantees serving 17 after-school programs.
Palmer-Van Camp was previously employed at Cleary University advising and instructing students, designing academic programs, and profiling the student population. Other roles have included private market research firms in Oakland and Ingham counties.
Palmer-Van Camp is current member of the Michigan Challenge Balloonfest Committee and Livingston County Family YMCA Board of Directors, as well as a founding volunteer of the Livingston County Family YMCA through the Leadership Livingston Class of 2001. Other qualifications include personal trainer certification from the American Counsel on Exercise and external assessor and Youth Work Methods Trainer certifications from the David P. Weikert Center for Youth Program Quality.
Palmer-Van Camp brings to Livingston Promise experience evaluating youth programs and working in multiple education environments, commitment to quality as well as experience organizing a grass-roots not-for-profit.
Ms. Palmer-Van Camp holds a B.S. in political science and criminal justice from the University of Akron.
