Robin Schutz currently serves as the Coordinator for Great Start Livingston. Great Start is Michigan’s nationally recognized state-wide initiative to foster school readiness and life success for young children. Great Start Livingston includes the Great Start Collaborative and a Great Start Parent Coalition. Together, they focus locally on the system changes needed to improve the outcomes for children and families.
Mrs. Schutz facilitates the operation of Great Start Livingston and the accomplishment of its vision – that all children are safe, healthy and eager to succeed in school and in life. She is responsible for coordinating collaborative and comprehensive community planning with community partners throughout Livingston County. This involves working with many community agencies, local businesses, organizations, early childhood providers and school districts.
Prior to her current position, she was an in-home family child care provider for eight years. Previous roles include Health Promotion Coordinator for UnitedHealthcare and Public Health Educator for the Montgomery County Combined Health District in Ohio.
Her education includes a Bachelor Degree from Michigan State University and Master of Education Degree from University of Cincinnati. She is a member of the Howell Kiwanis Club and serves on the Board of Spiritual Care at Shepherd of the Lakes.
