Get involved. Invest in the future.
We ask for your investment in the future of Livingston County. (With all the research showing how important early childhood education is to economic health, we hesitate to call your generosity a donation.)
There is no bigger commitment you can make to the future of our community.
Dollar amounts vary from study to study, but if we look at the research done closest to home by the High/Scope Perry Preschool Project in Ypsilanti, the return on investing in early childhood education is immense.
High/Scope conducted a benefit-cost analysis and determined that every dollar invested in the preschool program during the early 1960s yielded over $8 in benefits to program participants and society as a whole.
A later report found the positive, long-term effects of high-quality early childhood education on low-income 3- and 4-year-olds continues.
This later study documented a return to society of more than $17 for every dollar invested, primarily because of the large, continuing reduction of male crime.
